One less worried home owner in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, April 11, 2009 -- A once worried 75-year-old woman is now sitting comfortably in her home. Gone are the threats of eviction from her trailer park landlord due to lack of maintenance.

Rotarians Jim Flinchum and Cliff Bateman learned of the situation through Catholic Charities. They immediately decided that the twice-widowed woman who lives on $500 a month and suffers severe respiratory problems would not be removed.

On Saturday, April 11, the club's Paint Your Heart Out crew spent most of the day fixing the trailer, which included: power washing, painting, woodworking and landscaping.

The woman's heroes are: Jim & Renee Flinchum, Cliff Bateman, Bob Scott, Wayne McCoy, Rob Frazier, Jamie Pearson, Mike Cardoza, Mike Barrett, Harold Whitehurst, and David Rourk.
