We Support Our Community

 
Each year our club raises money through various events and fundraisers to allow us to reinvest in our nonprofit community through our grantmaking program. 
The money that allows our club to distribute these funds is raised throughout the year at our many activities and events including our annual Corks for Cures wine tasting event, selling parking spaces at the Pungo Strawberry Festival, and selling beer at the Neptune Festival.  Donations are always accepted to help build this fund that provides a variety of local nonprofits money to do their good work (click here to learn more about donating).
 
In 2017, $1,000 was awarded to each of the following programs (click on the name to learn more about each):

In 2016, 11 organizations were awarded grants from our Foundation. The money that allows our club to distribute these funds is raised throughout the year at our many activities and events including our annual Corks for Cures wine tasting event (Feb. 3, 2017), selling parking spaces at the Pungo Strawberry Festival, and selling beer at the Neptune Festival.  Donations are always accepted to help build this fund that provides a variety of local nonprofits money to do their good work.  This year's awardees are listed below.  Click the name to learn more about each organization.
 
 
Additionally in 2016, we collaborated with Virginia Beach Town Center Rotary, Portsmouth Rotary, and Norfolk Rotary, to secure $20,000 from our Rotary District to help support REACH - Reading Enriches All Children, a program that places volunteers in area shelters to read to the children residing there.  In addition to the funding we provided, many Rotarians are also volunteering their time reading in shelters.  Click here to learn how you, too, can get involved in this important work!
